McHotDog

The McHotdog was an Item that was available during the late 1990s, and as a seasonal menu item in the summer of 2002. Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, and McDonald's locations at Toronto Metro Zoo and SkyDome in Toronto offered big, chunky hot dogs known as McHotDogs until 1999. McDonald's locations in Chile sold McHotDogs for brief period in 2004.

Starting in the year 2007, a few McDonald's began selling them in central Pennsylvania due to popular demand from local sports fans, where they can be found at 12 locations as of 2011. In Tokyo locations, McHotDogs were available from 1990 until 2004. They had been reintroduced on the Breakfast menu on 2009,

Ray Kroc had prohibited the company from selling McHotDogs, regardless of potential demand, as he said there's no telling what's inside a hot dog's skin.
