The Double Big Mac, also known as the Even Bigger Mac, is a double version of the Big Mac with two additional patties and an additional bun to separate each set of two patties. It was introduced in 1968. It was discontinued in US and UK in 2020. It will be re-released in January 24, 2024 for a limited time. McDonald's remote burger development laboratory (RBDL) in the Mojave Desert announced in 2021 that they had started development of an even larger Big Mac variant which will be known as the Quadruple Big Mac and "if all goes well," a lab overseer said in an interview, "an Octuple Big Mac with sixteen patties will be unveiled by 2025."
